| Home | After the unprecedented success of IP networks, most emerging access and edge wireless networks are migrating to an IP-based protocol stack. The Wireless Networks (WisNet) Research Lab at the NUST Institute of Information Technology (NIIT), National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST) investigates the performance of IP-based wireless technologies at different layers of the protocol stack. Currently, WisNet is focusing on four types of wireless networks: (i) Personal area wireless sensor networks; (ii) High-throughput local and metropolitan area networks; (iii) Cellular and last mile wireless access networks; and (iv) Mobile ad hoc networks. Within these four broad domains, WisNet is investigating projects pertaining to performance evaluation and enhancement, network interoperability, high-throughput communication, fair and efficient medium access, resilient and energy-efficient routing, and wireless multimedia.
